Chaper Twelve12) It was late afternoon by the time Jack arrived at the goblin embassy. Traffic was growing heavy on the streets, and under them the worm rail was getting crowded. He was quite happy to get off and take a deep breath of the cool air aboveground. A quick walk up the sidewalk took him to a tall, dark building wedged between the squat gnome embassy and the sooty white Magician’s Guild. It was slim and sharp as a needle and covered with shiny black glass that reflected shadowy counterparts to the people walking up and down the street.
